Premium Access and Pricing

With these new tools, GitHub has also launched a premium model request system. While the base model, currently GPT-4o, offers unlimited requests for agent mode, chat, and code completions, accessing the premium models requires a bit more. The new GitHub Copilot Pro+ plan, priced at $39 per month, grants users up to 1,500 premium requests each month.

For those on other plans, starting in May 2025, Copilot Pro users will receive 300 premium requests monthly. Meanwhile, Copilot Business and Enterprise users will get 300 and 1,000 requests respectively, with these changes taking effect in mid-May 2025. Until then, users can enjoy unlimited access to these premium models.

A Broader Range of Models

GitHub has also expanded its model offerings, making models from Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI generally available. This includes the likes of Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Gemini 2.0 Flash, and GPT-4o. This expansion gives developers a wider array of options and more control over their coding projects.
