Companies in specialized fields, like the height access industry, often face a unique set of challenges on their websites. Potential clients have technical questions tied to specific safety regulations. HR teams are in a constant cycle of recruiting for skilled roles. And the sales team needs to show off a portfolio of complex, visual projects. Trying to serve all these needs with a standard website can be inefficient for everyone.

The Four-Front Problem
For our client Karabiner, an Australian height access specialist, their website needed to be more than a simple brochure. It had to simultaneously function as a technical expert, a recruiter, a project gallery, and a lead generation tool. A visitor might be an engineer with a question about compliance, a potential employee looking for a job, or a project manager wanting to see past work. Funneling these different user intents through separate pages creates friction and missed opportunities.
Building the Intent Logic
We didn't install a generic chatbot widget. We built a multi-role system designed to understand and serve these distinct needs from a single interface.
Technical Knowledge: The system was trained on a specific dataset: Karabiner’s internal technical documents and official Australian height access regulations. The goal was precision, not just conversation. It provides answers based on documented safety standards, like those outlined by Safe Work Australia.
Recruitment Screening: We built a logic path that acts as a first-line recruiter. The system asks targeted, rule-based questions to pre-screen candidates for specific roles. It filters applicants and collects the necessary information, saving the HR team from reviewing unqualified submissions.
Visual Showcase: Instead of just linking to a portfolio page, we integrated image cards directly into the chat. When a user asks about a certain type of project, the system can visually present relevant examples from Karabiner’s portfolio on the spot.
Lead Capture: The system is built to recognize when a question is too complex for an automated response. When it identifies a high-intent inquiry, it transitions to a structured contact form. This ensures the sales team receives a detailed, qualified lead directly in their inbox.
The Live System
The result is Kari, a system that now serves as a central point of contact for Karabiner's key business functions. It handles initial technical support, manages the first stage of recruitment, showcases marketing collateral, and captures detailed sales inquiries. The team no longer has to manually field repetitive technical questions or sift through unqualified job applications. The system is live and can be tested on their website.
